Strengthening Malaysia’s Global Leadership at the World Cancer Congress 2024

On 17th September 2024, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly bin Ahmad, Malaysia’s former Minister of Health, represented the nation at the prestigious World Cancer Congress in Geneva, Switzerland. Accompanied by 20 Malaysian delegates from the Ministry of Health, the National Cancer Society Malaysia, Pink Unity, and the Youth Cancer Support Group, Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to global cancer care and advocacy.

The World Cancer Congress, a platform bringing together international experts, policymakers, and advocates, provides a critical opportunity for sharing best practices in cancer prevention, treatment, and research. Malaysia’s active participation highlights its growing leadership in the fight against cancer, particularly through innovative programs in early detection and patient support.

Dr. Dzulkefly emphasized Malaysia’s efforts in tackling rising cancer rates and enhancing cancer awareness, stating, “We are committed to improving cancer care and ensuring equitable access to treatment for all Malaysians.”

This collaboration at the World Cancer Congress strengthens Malaysia’s resolve to enhance healthcare policies, support cancer survivors, and push forward cutting-edge research in oncology. The delegates’ participation also fosters international partnerships aimed at reducing the global cancer burden.

The Malaysian delegation’s presence underscores the nation’s dedication to leading the charge for a healthier world.
